The “Painted city of the Harz” is located on the north side of the Harz and about 35km away. You get there quickly by using the B6. In Wernigerode one of the main attractions is the “Harzer Schmalspurbahn”. With this train you can reach easily the biggest mountain in this area, the “Brocken”.
