In and around Ballenstedt you can find eight hiking tours. The tours have different lengths and level of difficulty so that everybody can find its perfect tour. Please let us know, if you need any material. We would be pleased to help you. Tourist station Ballenstedt.
The “Selkestieg”
Since August 2006 there has been a hiking tour that is called "Selkestieg". This tour is about 67km and starts in the small village "Stiege" and ends in "Quedlingburg", the World Heritage Site. This very imposing tour leads you through the untapped nature and some historical places (e.g. Alexisbad, Mägdesprung, Castle Falkenstein, Ballenstedt).
The “Brocken”
The "Brocken" is the highest mountain of the northern part of Germany. Its height is about 1142m and you can find there a very alpine climate up the mountain. Depending on your physical condition and the weather, there exist different possibilities to get up there:
- You can use the regular transportation, the "Harzer Schmalspurbahn"
- You can also use one of the different hiking tours up to the mountain. Please ask us for material.
Golf
Between Ballenstedt and Meisdorf, a little city located nearby, you can find the golf course of the golf club "Schloss Meisdorf. (Further information at: www.golfclub-schloss-meisdorf.de).
